A BRIDGE TO WARM SPRINGS PRESERVE PARKING
The bridge within Warm Springs Preserve has been installed, so we will likely be able to open the Preserve for parking by this weekend. Construction fencing around work areas should also be coming down by the end of the week, reopening any closed areas to the public. This is another significant step in the restoration and improvement projects that will be completed in the spring, along with the introduction of over 29,000 native plants, ensuring a vibrant ecosystem for years to come. You will still notice ongoing construction of the welcome building (which will include restroom facilities) during winter, so please avoid this area for your safety. As soon as the weather permits, we will start the grooming of the Nordic trails. I hope you (and your dogs!) enjoy the new Preserve this winter.
LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE—TRAINING SESSION ON THE NEW FORMAT
We have a new format for the Land Development Code. This format brings together key components, such as subdivision and zoning regulations, development standards, and permitting procedures, into a single, streamlined code that is easier to understand and use. The code was consolidated, redundancies were eliminated, and clarity was added in this new document, but no substantive changes to the code were made otherwise. This streamlined, consolidated code will provide a more usable foundation for upcoming changes in city code and the land use regulations. The code update process is expected to take place over the next few years. To support the community’s transition to the new format of the code, we will host an in-person training session at Ketchum City Hall in the Community Meeting Room on Thursday, December 18, from noon to 1:30 PM. Online attendance is also available from the event page on the city website (ketchumidaho.org). This training is open to anyone interested in understanding the key format changes to the consolidated code and how it can be used. Click here to learn more.
WARM HOLIDAY WISHES TO ONE AND ALL!
As friends, family, and visitors make their way into our vibrant town, I want to extend my very best wishes for the Holiday season. This is such a magical time in our valley, and it’s no wonder so many choose to spend their Holidays here. May everyone stay safe, and may the snow be plentiful!
Happy Holidays
Cheers,
Neil
