Candidate Filing Process
- The candidate filing window runs from Monday, August 18 at 8:00 a.m. to Friday, August 29 at 5:00 p.m.
- Candidate filing forms are available online and at City Hall.
- City candidates may either:
- Pay a $40 filing fee, or
- Submit a nominating petition with at least five valid signatures.
- If submitting a petition, candidates must bring it to the Blaine County Elections Office for signature verification.
- Helpful tips:
- Please ensure all fields are completed on the form. Commonly missed areas include:
- Section 5 – Homeowner Exemption
- Section 7 – Statement of city, office, term, and residence address
- If unsure about homeowner exemption status, please call the Blaine County Assessor’s Office at (208) 788-5535.
- Write-in candidates filing packet found here. The filing deadline is Friday, September 5 at 5:00 p.m.

Candidate Withdrawal
- Candidates wishing to withdraw must complete and submit the Withdrawal of Candidacy form.
- The withdrawal deadline is Friday, September 5 at 5:00 p.m.
Voter Information
- Absentee ballot requests can be made www.voteidaho.gov or submitted by paper form via email, mail, fax, or in person.
- The deadline to pre-register to vote and request an absentee ballot is Friday, October 24 at 5:00 p.m.
- Early Voting will be available at the Elections Office from October 14 to 31, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Polling place change: Voters in Precinct 001 (North Blaine County) will now vote at Ketchum City Hall (Election Day only)
